About the Workshop
With the advent of generative AI, instructors can now design tailored tools and learning experiences for their students — capabilities that previously required significant resources and specialised expertise. This workshop will present examples of how instructors at our university have used AI to make learning more interactive and engaging, along with practical steps for getting started
About the Facilitators
Isaac Koh is the Lead for Pedagogical Innovations at SMU’s Centre for Teaching Excellence. He heads a specialised AI projects team dedicated to the innovative application of AI in teaching and learning. Isaac’s work focuses on shaping strategic collaborations with faculty to develop and institutionalise high-impact pedagogical use cases, ensuring that emerging technologies are effectively integrated to enhance learning outcomes and educational quality.
Shamie Jegan is an AI for Learning Innovation Specialist at SMU’s Centre for Teaching Excellence. Her work centres on helping educators explore and apply artificial intelligence to enhance teaching, learning, and student engagement. She collaborates with faculty to explore practical applications of AI in higher education, working at the intersection of pedagogy, technology, and innovation to develop solutions that are meaningful, scalable, and aligned with learning goals.
