About the Workshop
AI has changed education. Regardless of whether we resist or accept, AI is continuously challenging educational systems. This has led to various pedagogical viewpoints that do not work together well. UPD being one of the largest and most diverse universities in the Philippines, the clashing of viewpoints led to the difficulty in creating a unified AI policy. This session details the key points that were identified from faculty and students of various different units, and discusses how all of these groups led to a general yet adequate response to AI. The approach detailed is inclusive and thought provoking while leaving some of the details of implementation to respective units depending on their needs.
About the Facilitator
Dr Miguel is a faculty from the Department of Chemical Engineering and Artificial Intelligence Program of the University of the Philippines Diliman. He is one of the members of the committee on developing the AI policy of the University and is the faculty in charge of the Learning Management System of the University as the director of the Interactive Learning Centre Diliman. He is also an avid promoter of the proper and ethical use of AI in education in the University through various workshops and seminars.
